2815 N Linder Rd 4 years 12 months agoBike lane ends heading south on Linder past Ustick. There is a nice wide sidewalk on the west side of the road to get to Tully Park, but crossing the subdivision intersection just south of EMS building is dangerous with plant growth and diminished line of sight for vehicles blowing the stop sign out of the subdivision. Extending the bike lane on the west side of Linder south of Ustick and creating a bike lane north of Tully Park to the existing bike lane up the road at Ustick/Linder would enhance connectivity to Tully Park and the pathway running adjacent to the park and east to Meridian Road.

882 W McMillan Rd 5 years 2 months agoIt would be great if a bike lane could be put in between Locust Grove and Linder on McMillan. There are many good bike lanes in roads surrounding this area. It would probably take laying down some more pavement. There are lots of neighborhoods and schools in the area. The main reason I could see not to, is if it is planned to put in 4 lanes on Mcmillan in the near future and if so you could just put in bike lanes then.

4060 W Ustick Rd 5 years 3 months agoSo I live off of Ustick Road and the biking is very dangerous on this road. It is difficult to do much because the canal is protected and I think moat of use the round-about ways though the neighborhoods but whem i bike I don't like the sidewalks and would prefer a bike lane. The sidewalk ends for a little ways on the north side of ustick past the most recently built neighborhood just off someones property. Their yard has flamingos in it year round. Anyways I like to not drive and biking in meridian is very dangerous because of a lack of lanes and people tend to not look for them. Sidewalks alone tenmile between ustick and McMillan would also benefit meridian and I hope they considered it and are putting them in after they widen the road. I would walk and ride my bike more to Wal-Mart if tenmile was bike and pedestrain friendly between ustick and McMillan.

1041 E McMillan Rd 5 years 2 months agoPlease please consider finishing the walking/biking path on McMillan RD connecting Locust Grove and Meridian Rd. There is only a small strip left undone. This would benefit Multiple schools access and our community to ensure safety and active vibrant families!

3996 W Chinden Blvd 5 years 2 months agoThere are very large grates in the sidewalks on Chinden (see the one at the intersection of Chinden and Tree Farm for example) that make it difficult to use a wheelchair on the sidewalks. Also, the sidewalks on both sides of Chinden near the SpurWing neighborhood dead end in random places and you can’t even get over into the ditch or onto the shoulder; they just dead end right into a hillside.

4157 N Black Cat Rd 5 years 3 months agoI was wondering if there is a plan to continue the walk/bike path along 9 mile creek behind The Oaks neighborhood to extend from Black Cat to 10 Mile Road behind the water treatment facility. Also, if there is a plan to add a bike lane and sidewalk on McMillan between Black Cat and 10 Mile for better access to shopping etc.

Yes, it would be wonderful to have a complete sidewalk from The Oaks Subdivision, since 700 more homes are planned, to walk or bike to Walmart and the restaurants in that area

823 W Waterbury Dr 4 years 11 months agoThe path along this canal/ Creek has no shade. I have used this area for walking dogs, running and biking. There is no shade at all. It would be easier for animals and young kids and older adults if there were trees planted along the walk way to make it more pleasant for everyone. It would prevent heatstroke, burns by the hot pavement and improve the usage. It would also make this area more pleasant to be on. There are weeds, dead brush and nothing else to look at.

5181 N Locust Grove Rd 5 years 2 months agoA sidewalk and/or bike lane is needed on the east side of Locust Grove between the gas station entrance and the entrance to the Vienna Woods subdivision. Currently there is just a gravel shoulder of varying widths that often contains trash or broken glass.

368 Creekview Dr 5 years 3 months agoWould be nice to beautify this area some. Mid summer the grasses look very flammable. Can we green this area or add some shade? Add some benches on the canal side of the path not on the yard sides. Thank you.

What about adding some shade trees along the canal side?

Please plant some trees, this area is tough on the eyes and blazing hot during the day with zero shade

2601 N Linder Rd 4 years 12 months agoNorth Bound Linder just north of Tully Park has no pedestrian or bike lanes on the east side of the road. To safely navigate this a pedestrian needs to cross to the west side of Linder, walk north to Ustick, and then cross back to the east side. A bicyclist is confronted with concrete barriers and a very thin space that does not leave enough space for a car and cyclist to safely travel though. Cars must go into the other lane to safely give distance to a cyclist.

2253 N Leann Way 5 years 2 months agoI live on W Chateau Dr near Astaire. I would like to see bike and walking paths that are completely separate from vehicle corridors. Please consider developing bike and walking paths along the local canals such as Settlers Canal and others in my vicinity.

6030 N Locust Grove Rd 5 years 2 months agoBike lanes and/or sidewalks are needed on both sides of the street on Locust Grove between Ambrose School and Chinden Blvd. Construction is taking place there now; please ensure there are safe options for pedestrians and cyclists after construction is completed.

A sidewalk and/or bike lake is also needed on a short section of Locust Grove between Vienna Woods and the Ambrose School on the east side.

W Cranmer Dr 5 years agoAlso the lighting is poor in most areas - there should be a way to add more light poles that can perhaps run on Solar Energy - I would love to walk/bike later into the summer evening times but with most areas becoming pitch black it is much to dangerous to consider doing this - ALSO sidewalks are not kept clean of debris or rocks/goat heads - this is a slip and fall waiting to happen or a person on a bike hitting a rock and falling - this should be addressed with the sidewalks getting blown off of debris

5 years 2 months agoPlease consider putting a flashing light for pedestrians and bicyclists when crossing on Locust Grove from the school into the neighborhood across the street. Right now there is a crosswalk and flags that pedestrians can carry while crossing the road but something more visible would be much safer.

5444 N Linder Rd 4 years 12 months agoWhy don't all of the high schools and middle schools have bike and pedestrian access the way elementary schools do? At least half of the teenagers do not have licenses and/or cars. For the rest who do, the parking lots are packed. Please consider implementing these safe routes to encourage teens to walk and bike to school more.

This sidewalk breaks here. It is hard to ride and walk on the dirt so you are forced to be on the road where you can easily be hit by cars.

1409 W Carlton St 5 years agoAgain we have the opportunity to help connect communities to other by offering a better solution and that is with paths for Pedestrians and bike - we need to be able to connect to the "greenbelt" or at least get connected or better connected to Boise and to Canyon County as well - thanks!

As an older bicyclist, I do not ride in the road as I have had too many close calls. I am asking that the pathways be connected. I will ride the Bud Porter pathway from Meridian rd to Linder (I’m begging you to put some trees along the way!), then ride on Linder rd to Ustick and head to Reta park and stop. I know there is a pathway across ten mile but it’s in bad shape and desolate. I don’t know if the pathways are your responsibility, but it would be nice to have connecting tree-lined pathways. Thank you

I would very much like to see a much stronger presence of walking and biking throughout Meridian with signage, maintenance and aesthetics. I wish to see more of Plan 3 which seems to focus on Fairview, but with much more curb appeal including some shade trees. I wonder if some of those poorly placed trees along Fairview could be removed and replaced with more appropriately located and growth considered trees. Right now, biking and walking is far, far behind vehicle transportation and I do understand. Vehicle transportation has it own hiccoughs, but we are a wonderful community which currently does not see enough other options for recreation travel. Could we strengthen the off road bike trail as well with some major distinction much like the Greenbelt trail has and is known for.
