2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan Update
Bannock Transportation Planning Organization is updating the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). BTPO is evaluating the proposed highway project, which is divided into seven performance categories. The project will assist BTPO in meeting our performance targets. These projects are recommended to be included in the MTP. The final project list included in the MTP serves as the potential project list for Federal funding. The problem with eliminating free right turns onto Oak is that people will just use E. Young instead, which is not designed to handle that much traffic.

If Siphon is widened and with the new interchange on I-15 without a traffic light at the intersection westbound traffic could back considerably. This will cause those crossing Yellowstone or turning onto Yellowstone to take chances which will cause accidents. It will also put in jeopardy those going eastbound. It's already getting to be a nightmare at times trying to go straight on Siphon or turn left, from either direction, onto Yellowstone. As someone who lives in a subdivision just west of Yellowstone north of Siphon, during busy times I will backtrack to Abraham to exit onto Yellowstone so I do not have to try and go straight across Yellowstone or try and turn north onto Yellowstone. If not light is installed as soon as the interchange opens, accidents will increase. Not just a comment, it is a FACT!
